Selected repository locations for present-day orientation. Numbers match the research stops below. Select a marker to open its stop. Locations are approximate, not entrances or driving directions. Grouped numbers identify nearby repositories; use the address key for individual locations.
Several stops can lead to the same repository. Maps show selected verified locations, not every guide stop or every community represented in the records. Use each stop’s access instructions, including for online and out-of-county collections. Check access before traveling.
Stop 1: Tecumseh District Library, Clara Waldron Historical Room 215 North Ottawa Street, Tecumseh, MI 49286

County outlines: U.S. Census Bureau 2024 cartographic boundaries ↗. Selected major roads: 2024 TIGER/Line primary and secondary roads ↗. Public repository addresses checked against the sources above, with approximate Census geocoder positions. Unmatched addresses and out-of-county repositories are listed in the key rather than assigned a guessed position. Markers identify contact locations, not collection coverage. Historical boundaries, township lines and current traffic conditions are not shown. Prepared November 1, 2026.
Collection and access sources reviewed October 31, 2026. These are selected research routes, not complete county holdings or completed name-level searches.
RESEARCH STOP 01
Tecumseh school years, tax rolls and community organizations
Collection details
The collection includes tax assessment rolls, public-school documents, business and legal ledgers, club records, directories, the Meyers Airport collection and Perry Hayden diaries. Its page links Tecumseh High School yearbooks from 1919 through 2016-2017 and digitized Tecumseh Herald issues from 1940 through 1979. The physical Herald microfilm reaches back to 1850, and volunteers indexed newspaper births, marriages and deaths for 1850-2018.
What to confirm
The online newspaper span is narrower than the microfilm holdings. The collection summary does not supply dates for every ledger or school file. Staff cannot guarantee a matching obituary or local-history result, and unindexed obituary searches require sufficiently specific dates.
RESEARCH STOP 02
Adrian tax records and Lenawee community collections
Collection details
The society identifies Adrian city directories for 1859-1998, Adrian city tax records for 1865-1906 and Lenawee County tax records for 1840-1915. Its archives also holds school yearbooks, business ledgers, cemetery material, obituaries, Sanborn maps, plat books and local histories. Subject documents cover education, religion, railroads, the Grange and other local institutions, while the photo archives preserves county people, places and events.
What to confirm
Published date spans identify the named collections, not a guarantee that every year or resident appears. The overview gives no comprehensive date ranges for yearbooks or institutional files. Request a particular school, organization, municipality and period rather than assuming a countywide name search.
RESEARCH STOP 03
Clinton mill, village and school manuscripts
Collection details
The 2022 manuscript inventory identifies Clinton Woolen Mill loom cards for 1945, office material dated approximately 1898-1950, Newburg School District 4 material for 1901-1906, and village burial-transit records for 1940-1976 plus death certificates for 1907-1936.
What to confirm
The inventory is descriptive, not digitized records or a complete name index. Preserve the uncertain mill starting date and miscellaneous Newburg coverage. Loom cards do not necessarily identify employees.
RESEARCH STOP 04
Clinton school volumes with an explicit missing year
Collection details
Digital Clinton High School yearbooks are listed for 1917, 1937, 1947 and 1960-1999, excluding 1963. Clinton Local newspaper images cover 1930-2010, with miscellaneous earlier images.
What to confirm
1963 is explicitly missing. The newspaper span does not establish every issue survives; the online research page is an index, not remote access to all images.
RESEARCH STOP 05
Blissfield newspaper images with onsite copying restrictions
Collection details
The library research policy describes a digital Blissfield Advance collection reaching back to the 1870s, together with high-school yearbooks and pamphlet files. Use local notices to investigate a school, household or business.
What to confirm
The policy was approved in April 2013 and remains published. Confirm present arrangements and exact newspaper years before travel or payment. No precise earliest year or complete run is established.
RESEARCH STOP 06
Morenci newspapers, yearbooks and community photographs
Collection details
The library links Morenci newspapers from the 1920s through 2020, Morenci High School yearbooks, the local-history book Our Journey in Time and historical photographs.
What to confirm
The stated decade-to-2020 newspaper span is not an issue inventory. Browse the archive by date after an unsuccessful name search; OCR can miss names. No exact yearbook run is established here.
Prepare one focused request
Give the repository the locality, year, collection and specific question. Ask about the relevant volume or folder, gaps, access restrictions and copying costs. Save the citation and record what you searched, including searches with no result.
Use these dated holdings to choose a next search. This is a selection of cataloged collections, not a complete inventory of Lenawee County records.
A range is a lead, not a guarantee. Bars show the dates stated by the cited catalog or inventory. They do not establish uninterrupted coverage, complete reporting or online image access. Unmarked years mean not represented in this selection, not that records were destroyed. Indexes and abstracts still need to be followed to the underlying record.
Sources reviewed November 1, 2026. Blue shows cataloged holdings; rust identifies indexes or compiled publications where the source specifies them. Read the format label and access notes for each row.

Confirm the historical jurisdiction as well as the date. A record may be held outside today’s county, and an inventory’s ending year does not mean recordkeeping stopped.
